Wow. That all sounds very interesting. It may well be something to pitch to KPFK. We will chat about this at our staff meeting today and then get back to you. Thanks for the information and thanks for staying connected to our blog!
Great radio interview with two courageous brilliant women using the legal (climate Justice)and media (sojourner Truth) tools of our current historic time on behalf of sustainability and justice in the Earth Community. The BP oil spill has spilled into my dreams/ nightmares where I find it is becoming increasingly difficult to sleep and find needed restoration in the face of the relentless destruction that is proceeding at such an alarming rate. We are organizing an Eco Bus Campaign here in Oakland to simultaneously address the needs of youth to get to school, while also reducing GreenHouse Gas emissions. Is this a story worth sharing with the Sojourner Truth audience?!We are proud of our SF Bay Area coalition’s federal civil rights court win stopping the boondoggle Oakland airport connector project which would have cost billions while cutting bus transit service to our poorest communities. You can learn more about our regional social justice work in “Breakthrough Communities: Sustainability and Justice in the Next American Metropolis” (MIT Press). Keep up your amazing work!
