Video and Sign on letter: Exploitation by Afforestation–A tree plantation is not a forest!

27 August, 2012, Source: Geasphere

Over a year ago, a team went on a field trip to Mozamique and subsequently published the video documentary “ Exploitation by Afforestation – The GSFF in Mozambique” about large scale afforestation projects in Mozambique and the plantations’ impacts on local communities and the local environment.

Correspondingly we set up a petition that calls for the GSFF and all its investors to stop unethical and exploitative projects and rather invest their members money in sustainable development projects in the affected areas.

As we want to deliver the petition to the GSFF on the 21 September – the International Day Against Monoculture Tree Plantations – and need just more than 200 signatures to reach our goal of 10.000, we kindly ask you (if you agree with the petition and its contents) to sign and share the petition.

Please sign the petition here: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/stop-plantations-mozambique/
